EFCC Arrests 117 Suspected Internet Fraudsters In Lagos

  Operatives Of The Economic And Financial Crimes Commission have arrested no fewer than 117 internet fraudsters in Lagos State. The Commission stated that the suspects were arrested in a sting operation at a Regional hotel in the Iyana Ishasi area of the state. The spokesperson for the commission, Dele Oyewale disclosed this in a statement on Thursday. Oyewale said the suspects were nabbed after intelligence revealed that they were allegedly involved in a computer-related fraud. The statement read, “Operatives of the Lagos Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested 117 suspected internet fraudsters in Lagos. “The suspects were arrested at Regional Hotel, Iyana- Ishasi, Lagos in a sting operation, following verified intelligence about their alleged involvement in computer-related fraud. Police arrest alleged burglar and recover N577,000 worth of stolen goods from him

  000,775The Ogun Police Command arrested a suspected burglar, Idris Salawu, and recovered stolen goods worth N from him.    Salawu is suspected of robbing a house in the Liberty Area of Ogijo, located in the Sagamu Area of the state.    The alleged robbery took place on Wednesday, June 26, and the suspect was apprehended on Thursday, June 27, at a hideout where the stolen items were recovered.   The items stolen from the home include a generator, a gas cylinder, a rechargeable fan, an Orl fan, a blender, a Storex tank, two packs of plates, and female jewellery.   While Salawu has been arrested, his accomplices are on the run and efforts are being made to apprehend them.

FG announces significant boosts in Nigeria's economy

  Kenya’s President William Ruto says he will withdraw a finance bill containing controversial tax hikes after deadly protests which saw parliament set ablaze on Tuesday. In an address to the nation, he said it was clear that Kenyans “want nothing” to do with the bill. “I concede,” he said, adding that he would not sign the bill into law. At least 22 people were killed in Tuesday’s protests, according to the state-funded Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNHRC).
