Alleged Naira abuse: Cubana Chief Priest and EFCC to settle out of court

 


The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and businessman, Pascal Okechukwu aka Cubana Chief Priest, have agreed to settle the naira abuse charges slammed against him out of court.

 

The trial of the socialite continued at the Federal High court in Lagos on Thursday, May 2. 

 

At today's sitting, both parties agreed to settle the matter out of court, after which the trial was adjourned to June 5 for the hearing of the settlement report.

 

LIB had earlier reported that EFCC on April 16 filed three count charges on Chief Priest for the alleged spraying and tampering of the Naira at an event at Eko Hotel on February 13th 2024, an event in Lagos in January 2024 and another event in 2020. He was then arraigned before Justice Kehinde Ogundare on April 17.  

 

When the charges were read during court sitting, Chief Priest pleaded not guilty. He was then granted bail in the sum of N10 million with two responsible sureties in like sum and ordered that the bail conditions must be perfected within seven days.
