CJN summons Kano Chief Judge and Federal Judge over conflicting orders on Emir of Kano seat

 The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, has summoned the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, and the Chief Judge


 of Kano State High Court over conflicting interim injunctions regarding the Kano Emirate, causing uncertainty in the state.

 

 

WAPCODEHUBNAIJA had reported that the Kano State High Court, under the jurisdiction of Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu, granted an injunction to protect Muhammadu Sanusi and other key figures from potential harassment by state authorities. This order prevented any interference with the Emir’s autonomy and the seizure of key symbols of his authority, such as the twin spear, the Royal Hat of Dabo, and the Ostrich-feathered shoes.

 

 

Shortly after the order was given, Justice A. Amobeda of the Federal High Court in Kano granted an order for the eviction of Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II from the Kofar Kudu Palace, reinforcing the authority of the 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero.

“An order of interim injunction restraining the respondents from inviting, arresting, detaining, threatening, intimidating, harassing the Applicant, or infringing on his rights is hereby granted. This order ensures that Emir Aminu Bayero enjoys all rights and privileges accrued to him by virtue of his position.''

These conflicting orders have led to significant confusion regarding the rightful authority and protection of the Emirs in Kano.

A heavily pregnant Nigerian   woman   sparked discussion when she went into labor minutes after posting a video on   TikTok , ultimately losing her   twins . In a video she shared on her TikTok page from her hospital bed, the woman revealed that she had posted on TikTok shortly before going into labor. However, she disclosed that she lost her twins during labor at the hospital. The video carried a caption that better explains the event: “Few minutes after posting on TikTok, labor took place. God, who did I offend? I lost the twins you put in me. I have no joy left in me. FCT police drafted to Abuja school where students were filmed bullying their classmate The FCT Police Command has dispatched experienced officers to the Leads British International School grounds to conduct inquiries into the reported cases of bullying.     A statement from the Police Public Relations Officer for the FCT Command, SP Josephine Adeh, reads   “In a proactive response to alarms raised by some members of the public regarding videos circulating on social media depicting the bullying of students at the above mentioned school, the FCT Police Command is on top of the situation and has deployed seasoned officers to the school premises for investigations and to forestall any possible breakdown of law and order.”

Bobrisky pleads guilty to Naira abuse as court strikes out Money Laundering charges Popular cross-dresser, Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye aka Bobrisky, has pleaded guilty to the Naira abuse charge leveled against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Bobrisky was arraigned before the Federal High Court, Lagos on a six-count charge bordering on alleged Abuse of the Naira and alleged Money Laundering  When the charge was read, Bobrisky pleaded guilty to the first four counts bordering on Naira abuse.  Before the charge was read, the EFCC’s counsel, Suleiman Suleiman, however asked the court to strike out counts five and six bothering on Money laundering allegations.   Justice Abimbola Awogboro subsequently struck out counts five and six.   Bobrisky was then arraigned on only counts one to four charges. When the counts were read, Bobrisky was asked if he understood the charge that was read to him, he replied, “yes, I am guilty”.
