Woman sets her stepchildren's hands on fire for eating rice she prepared for their father

A stepmother, Rachel Geoffrey, 23, has been arrested by the Adamawa State Police Command for setting the hands of her two stepchildren on fire.  

 

The suspect who resides in Federal Housing Estate, Girei Local Government Area was arrested for setting fire to the hands of her stepchildren, Genesis Geoffrey, 7, and Idadai, 3.  

 

The spokesperson of the command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, who confirmed the incident, said Geoffrey intentionally inflicted severe physical injuries on the 7 and 3-year-old children on May 7.  

 

He said the victims faced several calculated acts of cruelty and Human Rights Violations from their stepmother after the separation of their mother from their father.

 

According to him, Genesis and Ijadai got their stepmother angry after eating the plate of rice she had cooked and kept for her husband, because they were hungry.

 

Reacting, she tied their hands with handkerchiefs and set fire to their hands, resulting in the severe injuries they sustained.

 

The Commissioner of Police CP Dankombo Morris, expressed worries as he advised members of the public particularly parents to live up to expectations by providing the basic needs of their wards. He also vowed to diligently make sure that the suspect is persecuted.

A heavily pregnant Nigerian   woman   sparked discussion when she went into labor minutes after posting a video on   TikTok , ultimately losing her   twins . In a video she shared on her TikTok page from her hospital bed, the woman revealed that she had posted on TikTok shortly before going into labor. However, she disclosed that she lost her twins during labor at the hospital. The video carried a caption that better explains the event: “Few minutes after posting on TikTok, labor took place. Bobrisky pleads guilty to Naira abuse as court strikes out Money Laundering charges Popular cross-dresser, Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye aka Bobrisky, has pleaded guilty to the Naira abuse charge leveled against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Bobrisky was arraigned before the Federal High Court, Lagos on a six-count charge bordering on alleged Abuse of the Naira and alleged Money Laundering  When the charge was read, Bobrisky pleaded guilty to the first four counts bordering on Naira abuse.  Before the charge was read, the EFCC’s counsel, Suleiman Suleiman, however asked the court to strike out counts five and six bothering on Money laundering allegations.   Justice Abimbola Awogboro subsequently struck out counts five and six.   Bobrisky was then arraigned on only counts one to four charges. When the counts were read, Bobrisky was asked if he understood the charge that was read to him, he replied, “yes, I am guilty”.
