German Country Director Begs Tinubu To Release Nnamdi Kanu

 The former Abia lawmaker who also called on Nigerians to meditate on the wordings of the new national anthem, also commended the security strategies put in place by the President and his efforts to institutionalize transparency in governance.

Hon. Obinna Ichita, the Country Director/Principal Representative of the German Initiative for Knowledge Transfer in Nigeria, has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to release Nnamdi Kanu.

Ichita who until he was appointed Country Director/Principal Representative of German Initiative for Knowledge Transfer in Nigeria, the 2023 Deputy Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and lawmaker representing Aba South State Constituency in an exclusive interview with our correspondent on Saturday in Aba, said that the call for the release of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) was in the spirit of the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda and  the interest of justice.

Ichita said: “I congratulate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the successful celebration of his first anniversary as President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“It is my prayer that under his leadership, Nigeria will emerge prime investment destination and an indispensable player in the global field.

“I commend the security strategies put in place by the President and for his efforts to institutionalize transparency in governance.

“As Nigeria effects a change in her National Anthem, I urge the government and people of Nigeria to reflect on the wording of the national hymn to build a peaceful and prosperous homeland, where no one is oppressed.

“In the spirit of the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the interest of Justice, I appeal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu  to intervene and direct the commencement of processes for the release  of all agitators including Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and to also initiate a program that will culminate in a national dialogue for genuine reconciliation of differences to foster national unity, economic stability and national security.”

A heavily pregnant Nigerian   woman   sparked discussion when she went into labor minutes after posting a video on   TikTok , ultimately losing her   twins . In a video she shared on her TikTok page from her hospital bed, the woman revealed that she had posted on TikTok shortly before going into labor. However, she disclosed that she lost her twins during labor at the hospital. The video carried a caption that better explains the event: “Few minutes after posting on TikTok, labor took place. God, who did I offend? I lost the twins you put in me. I have no joy left in me. FCT police drafted to Abuja school where students were filmed bullying their classmate The FCT Police Command has dispatched experienced officers to the Leads British International School grounds to conduct inquiries into the reported cases of bullying.     A statement from the Police Public Relations Officer for the FCT Command, SP Josephine Adeh, reads   “In a proactive response to alarms raised by some members of the public regarding videos circulating on social media depicting the bullying of students at the above mentioned school, the FCT Police Command is on top of the situation and has deployed seasoned officers to the school premises for investigations and to forestall any possible breakdown of law and order.”

Bobrisky pleads guilty to Naira abuse as court strikes out Money Laundering charges Popular cross-dresser, Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye aka Bobrisky, has pleaded guilty to the Naira abuse charge leveled against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Bobrisky was arraigned before the Federal High Court, Lagos on a six-count charge bordering on alleged Abuse of the Naira and alleged Money Laundering  When the charge was read, Bobrisky pleaded guilty to the first four counts bordering on Naira abuse.  Before the charge was read, the EFCC’s counsel, Suleiman Suleiman, however asked the court to strike out counts five and six bothering on Money laundering allegations.   Justice Abimbola Awogboro subsequently struck out counts five and six.   Bobrisky was then arraigned on only counts one to four charges. When the counts were read, Bobrisky was asked if he understood the charge that was read to him, he replied, “yes, I am guilty”.
