Police arrest armed robbers who gang-raped three women in Anambra

The Anambra State Police Command has arrested two suspected armed robbers and serial rapists in Abagana in Njikoka Local Government Area of the state. 



The spokesperson of the command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, wo disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, June 16, 2024, said the suspects, Chukwuma Diji and Micheal Edochie, gang raped a married woman and two other ladies during operations in Abagana community. 

The PPRO added that two locally made double barrel guns, one locally made single barrel gun and six live cartridges were recovered from the suspects. 

“In the early hours of 15/6/2024 Police Operatives attached to Abagana division arrested two serial offenders wanted on a case of alleged rape and armed robbery, recover two locally made double barrel guns, one locally made single barrel gun, six live cartridges, and one Q link motorcycle,” the statement read. 

“The suspects are Chukwuma Diji ‘M’ AKA Sympathy or Chi-boy aged 35years of Obinagu Umudun Village, Abagana, and Micheal Edochie ‘M’ AKA Mikel aged 31years of Eziabunabu Umudun, Abagana sometime last year 2023, allegedly raped married woman at Obinagu Abagana and fled the community when Security Operatives attempted to arrest them

“Also on 6/6/2024, the suspects broke into an apartment belonging to a young lady and raped her and her friend at gunpoint. The criminals later forced one of the victims to transfer money to his account after they took turns of sex with them. Chukwuma and Micheal both confessed to the crime.

“The Commissioner of Police Anambra State Police Command, *CP Nnaghe Itam* has ordered the immediate transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a Comprehensive look to get justice for the victims of the alleged crime.

“The suspects are to be arraigned in court after the investigation is concluded

A heavily pregnant Nigerian   woman   sparked discussion when she went into labor minutes after posting a video on   TikTok , ultimately losing her   twins . In a video she shared on her TikTok page from her hospital bed, the woman revealed that she had posted on TikTok shortly before going into labor. However, she disclosed that she lost her twins during labor at the hospital. The video carried a caption that better explains the event: “Few minutes after posting on TikTok, labor took place. God, who did I offend? I lost the twins you put in me. I have no joy left in me. Bobrisky pleads guilty to Naira abuse as court strikes out Money Laundering charges Popular cross-dresser, Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye aka Bobrisky, has pleaded guilty to the Naira abuse charge leveled against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Bobrisky was arraigned before the Federal High Court, Lagos on a six-count charge bordering on alleged Abuse of the Naira and alleged Money Laundering  When the charge was read, Bobrisky pleaded guilty to the first four counts bordering on Naira abuse.  Before the charge was read, the EFCC’s counsel, Suleiman Suleiman, however asked the court to strike out counts five and six bothering on Money laundering allegations.   Justice Abimbola Awogboro subsequently struck out counts five and six.   Bobrisky was then arraigned on only counts one to four charges. When the counts were read, Bobrisky was asked if he understood the charge that was read to him, he replied, “yes, I am guilty”.
