6-year-old me would be proud" Simone Biles writes as she displays 11 Olympic medals

Simone Biles is celebrating her success at the recently-concluded Paris Olympics.

Despite being one of the oldest American female gymnasts to take part in the last 70 years, the 27-year-old Olympic champion stood out as she won three golds and a silver medal for the USA.

In all, she has 11 Olympic medals.

In a recent social media post on her X account (formerly Twitter), Biles reflected on her journey from a six-year-old child who tried gymnastics for the first time to a multiple Olympic and World Championship medalist.

Sharing some photos of her 11 Olympic medals, Biles wrote on X: "6 year old me would be proud."

Simone Biles took up gymnastics when she was six years old, during a daycare field trip. This was the same year when Ron & Nellie Biles, her grandparents, formally adopted her and her sister Adria Biles.
