Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has commended the agricultural program initiated by Niger State Governor, Mohammed Bago,
drawing parallels with his own "Operation Feed the Nation" initiative during his presidency.
Obasanjo, who is known for his commitment to agricultural development, praised Governor Bago's efforts to revolutionize farming in Niger State, saying it reminds him of his own vision for Nigeria's agricultural sector.
"Operation Feed the Nation" was a flagship program launched by Obasanjo in 1976 to boost food production and reduce reliance on imported food. Similarly, Governor Bago's agricultural program aims to make Niger State self-sufficient in food production and create jobs for rural communities.
Obasanjo's endorsement is a significant nod to Governor Bago's efforts to transform the agricultural landscape of Niger State. With this recognition, the program is poised to gain more momentum and inspire other states to follow suit.
