The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed that the 17-year-old girl, Omowunmi Aduloju, who stabbed her aunt to death is mentally ill.    LIB  reported  that the deceased, Funmilayo Adelayi, a staff of the Ondo State Ministry of Finance, was found dead in her apartment at Premier Estate, in Oda area of Akure on Sunday, March 17, 2024.    Wumi, as she is simply called, was later arrested by the police where she confessed to have stabbed her aunt to death on the 13th of March 2024   Spokesperson of the command, SP Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, who confirmed the development on Sunday, said a medical report from the psychiatric hospital where she was treated confirmed that the suspect was mentally sick.    “On Sunday 17th, of March, 2024, the police was informed about the death of a woman in her mid 50s in her home with her body already decomposing,” the statement read.   "The Police took the remains to the morgue and during clean up, a mark of violence (stabbing) was obse

Amaechi Muonagor has died at the age of 61.  The Nollywood actor reportedly died today, March 24, after suffering from kidney-related issues, diabetes, and stroke.  In 2023, he suffered a stroke that led to partial paralysis of his left leg.  He was undergoing weekly dialysis and also physiotherapy to treat the paralysis brought on by stroke (read  here ).  His death comes just days after he cried out for financial assistance on social media to enable him pay for a kidney transplant.  The actor appeared in scores of Nigerian movies. He was famous for his role  in Aki and Paw Paw, where he played the father of two mischief-making young boys.  He is survived by his wife Hope Chikodi Muonagor and their children.  His fans have gone on X to mourn him.

The spokesperson of the Lagos State Police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, has revealed that a woman, who was hit by a 22-year-old driver has died.     In a post shared on his X handle today March 24, Hundeyin said the woman and her three children were selling groundnuts by the roadside when they were hit by the driver who lost control.   He wrote “A mother and her three children were selling groundnuts by the roadside. A 22-year-old driver lost control of his Mercedes Benz car and ran into mother and children. While the children are responding to treatment, the mother sadly passed on. Think safety!”

A video of some foreigners and men of the Nigerian Police force in a heated argument during a stop and search has made the rounds on social media.    It is unclear why both parties engaged in the heated argument.  

A missing 9-year-old girl identified as Mosha, has been found murdered in Kenya.     A human rights activist, Njeri Wa Migwi, who disclosed this in a post on Sunday, March 24, 2024, said the incident happened in the Soweto area of Nairobi.      It was gathered that the grade 3 pupil was last seen alive while playing with her friends on Friday, March 22.      According to reports, her mother went to call her to come in for dinner but they couldn't find her.      The family went to report to the police at both Kayole and Soweto stations after two hours of searching for her at the neighbours' houses.     On Saturday morning, her body was found dumped on the roof of the building next to their house.      She had been raped and killed by an unknown person.
