Vandals Strike Again, Plunge Parts Of North-East Nigeria Into Darkness In Transmission Towers Attack

The TCN has reported another attack on its North-east electricity transmission lines, disrupting power supply to Maiduguri and surrounding areas. For the umpteenth time, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) on Wednesday announced another attack on its electricity transmission lines in the North-east, throwing parts of the region into darkness. It is coming barely a week after the wholly government-controlled organisation fixed the lines, which earlier elicited the concerns of the region’s state governors in the area due to the prolonged blackout. “The Transmission Company of Nigeria hereby states that two of its towers, T193 and T194, along the Damaturu -Maiduguri 330kV Single Circuit Transmission Line have again been destroyed by vandals. “The incident, TCN believes happened at about 10:15pm, yesterday (Tuesday) night, when the 150 MVA power transformer at Molai Substation tripped at the same time as the 330kV transmission line supplying bulk power to Maiduguri from Damaturu Tran

Jonathan Commissions Edo State Secretariat, Lays Foundation For New Auditorium, Lauds Obaseki’s Reforms

Jonathan also laid the foundation stone for the 1,500-capacity Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Auditorium, which is being constructed at the Secretariat Complex. Dignitaries at the commissioning ceremony included Obaseki and the First Lady of Edo State, Mrs. Betsy Obaseki; Deputy Governor of Edo State, Godwins Omobayo and his wife as well as the Chief Judge of Edo State, Justice Daniel Okungbowa. Also present were the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2024 governorship election, Dr. Asue Ighodalo and his wife; the Deputy governorship candidate and Secretary to the Edo State Government, Osarodion Ogie., and the Head of Service (HoS), Dr. Anthony Okungbowa, among others. I’ve Paid $2.4bn of $5.5bn Borrowed to Build Refinery, Dangote Says

Dangote ssys he has repaid $2.4 billion of the $5.5 billion borrowed for his $19 billion refinery project.
