Yinka Ayefele , the Nigerian music producer and gospel singer, recently caused a stir online with his  reactions during an interview with Youtuber Isbae U. The founder of Fresh and Blast FM network of radio stations was featured on Isbae U’s podcast, ‘Curiosity made me ask’. During the conversation, Isbae U jokingly asked the gospel singer, who has been in a wheelchair for a long time, to stand up if he was happy. This led to a strong reaction from viewers, including a father of triplets who gave the content creator a disapproving look. Despite this, Yinka Ayefele decided to answer the question by standing up from his wheelchair, which sparked controversy on social media. Isbae U, whose real name is Adebayo Ridwan Abidemi, got shocked upon seeing Ayefele on his feet. The video triggered massive reactions as social media users expressed their thoughts via comment section.

  Approximately 200 employees have been sacked by the Central Bank of Nigeria across various departments in a bank-wide restructuring exercise.   The departments affected include Human Resources; Development Finance; Trade and Exchange (including a prominent director, Dr. Hassan Mahmud); Financial Policy and Regulation and Procurement and Support Services (all service coordinators in the PSSD who predominantly can be found in the state branches).  It was gathered that many of the affected staff were reportedly surprised to receive termination letters on Friday, May 24, with their employment ending immediately.   Police in Lilongwe, Malawai have arrested a 43-year old Nigerian national for allegedly being found in possession of 33 blisters of cocaine.   According to Central West Region Police deputy public relations officer, Sub Inspector Foster Benjamin, the suspect, identified as Paul Chizetere Osuaha, was arrested at around 22:30 hours on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Area 49 New Gulliver in the capital city. The officers busted the suspect at a place called Pamowa as he was selling the illicit drug, and they took him to his house,” the police spokesperson said. A search led into the discovery of 33 blisters of cocaine and K1 million cash, which the law enforcers immediately seized   "Meanwhile, Osuoha has been charged with found in possession of dangerous drug without license,” he added.    He is expected to appear in court soon. 

  Ibrahim Lamorde, the former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has died at the age of 61.   Mr Lamorde died in Egypt where he was receiving medical treatment, a close associate said, according to Premium Times.   What ailed him was not disclosed.   Lamorde served as EFCC chairman between 2011 and 2015 while he was a police officer.   He joined the Nigerian Police in 1986 and retired as a Deputy Inspector General of Police in 2021.   According to his profile on the EFCC website, Mr Lamorde was the third Executive Chairman of the anti-graftagency.   When the EFCC was created in 2003, Mr Lamorde was made the pioneer Director of Operations. In December 2007, he took over as Acting Chairman, holding the position until Mrs Farida Waziri was appointed Chairperson and confirmed by the Senate in June 2008.   In December 2010, Mr Lamorde returned again to the EFCC as Director of Operations to replace Stephen Otitoju, the then Acting Director of Operations.   Lamor
