Singer Sean Kingston faces 10 charges in Florida fraud case

Singer Sean Kingston is facing 10 charges in Florida after being arrested alongside his mother for racking up about   a million dollars worth of merch without paying.   From the arrest warrant issued in Broward County, it was gathered that the singer is facing a total of 10 charges related to  the raid Sheriff's deputies conducted  last week, with the biggest one being an alleged organized scheme to defraud several companies.   It is alleged that Sean and his mother,  Janice Turner  ripped off a jeweler, an exotic car dealer and several other businesses for well into the 6-figures. The car dealer allegation is over a Cadillac Escalade worth $159,701.49 and the jewelry was worth a whopping $480K.    Sean is also facing a grand theft charge for an $86,568.33 piece of furniture, a custom bed. Vatican apologies after Pope Francis uses offensive slur for gay men

  The Vatican has apologised after the Pope used a highly offensive word about gay men.   Italian media reported on Monday that Francis used the Italian term “frociaggine”, roughly translating as “f****try”, in a private meeting last week when he was asked whether gay men should be allowed to train for the priesthood provided they remained celibate.   In a statement, it said: "Pope Francis is aware of the articles recently published about a conversation, behind closed doors, with the bishops of the CEI [the Italian Episcopal Conference of Catholic bishops].   "As he stated on several occasions, 'In the Church there is room for everyone, for everyone! Nobody is useless, nobody is superfluous, there is room for everyone. Just as we are, all of us.'   "The Pope never intended to offend or express himself in homophobic terms, and he apologises to those who felt offended by the use of a term reported by others."   Francis made the remark in a closed-door meeting

Displaced Okuama villagers move into IDP camp built by Delta government after debacle with Nigerian army

  Some Okuama villagers who fled the community following the killing of soldiers   on a peace mission in March, have moved into the  Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp the Delta State government built for them at Okuama-Ewu in Urhobo kingdom.   B uses were sent to convey the displaced residents to the camp after a meeting with leaders of the community. It was further learnt that the displaced residents had initially rejected moving into the camp, saying it was built outside their land.   They however agreed to move in after Governor Sherrif Oborevwori met with them and also promised to commence rebuilding the health center in the community and a six-classroom block a few weeks from now.

  A man has been arrested for kill!ng his father and stepmother with a pestle at Ugbowor, Edo state.   This reportedly occurred after an argument with his father. It was gathered that he got angry during the argument and smashed his he@d with a pestle.   When his stepmother rushed in after hearing her husband scream, he also attacked and ki!!ed her. When questioned, the suspect said he didn’t know what came over him.

The Senate has passed the National Anthem Bill 2024 to revert to the old national anthem, “Nigeria, we hail thee”.  The bill which speedily passed first and second readings now awaits assent into law by President Bola Tinubu.   The Senate passed legislation to swap the national anthem from “Arise, O Compatriots” to “Nigeria, We Hail Thee.” The old anthem, composed when Nigeria gained independence on October 1, 1960, will replace the current anthem.   The bill seeks to revive the anthem that was dropped in 1978 during Olusegun Obasanjo’s military administration.   Lillian Jean Williams, a British expatriate who lived in Nigeria during its independence, penned the lyrics for “Nigeria, We Hail Thee,” while Frances Berda composed the music. Man who defamed businessman Emoney says he did it to gain followers

  A 24-year-old man, Stanley Okoruwa, arrested for defaming  businessman, Emeka Okonkwo aka E-money, has claimed that he did it to gain followers.  Last week, the suspect was arrested for making a video where he alleged that the E-money had a secret relationship with the widow of late actor, Junior Pope. While being paraded, the suspect who is from Edo state, claimed he did it as a ‘’cruise” and to gain followers. ‘’I made a video about Sir E-Money and I said a lot of things that weren’t true. I said something regarding a video I saw online of a woman saying Emoney is responsible for everything that has taken place in regard to Jnr Pope’s matter. I said something similar to it and I also said Sir Emoney is having an affair with Jnr Pope’s wife. I made that video out of trying to grow my page. I wasn’t having any other bad intention to spoil Sir E-Money’s name. I didn’t even know the video would go to that extent. I know the video was wrong but I did not know it would go to that extent.
